He began his career at `F33f`_`[Citytv`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=CITY-TV]`_`f in `F33f`_`[Toronto`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Toronto]`_`f in 1987, as an entertainment reporter for CityPulse News. He also briefly hosted `*`F33f`_`[Toronto Rocks`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Toronto_Rocks]`_`f`* before joining `F33f`_`[MuchMusic`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=MuchMusic]`_`f as a reporter and anchor for `*`F33f`_`[FAX`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=FAX_(TV_series)]`_`f`* in 1990. He remained with that program until 1998, when he moved to `F33f`_`[The New VR`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=CKVR-DT]`_`f (now CTV two: Barrie/Toronto) in `F33f`_`[Barrie`:/page/wikibook/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_en_all_nopic_2025-08.zim|entry_path=Barrie]`_`f to anchor the station's newscasts. In 1991 Chilton also co-produced and hosted "Internet and Interactive with Bill Gates" a live one-hour special on MuchMusic with the Microsoft founder that explored the beginnings of the internet as a public tool. In the summer of 2010, Chilton left "A" News, to start a new career in real estate. He anchored his last newscast on June 15, 2010.
